You can use a laptop for your gaming PC but you have to get extra hardware so that you can hook up your DMA card externally into a PCIe slot (more complicated) In either case, you can use a laptop as a second PC. Firmware only masks your device from different anticheats, it will not turn off your card. If you have really good FW, you can fly under an anticheats radar, but you are still at risk if they detect the firmware. To turn off your card, you need either (1) manually take it out of your PC or (2) if you have a killswitch button on the back of your card, then all you need to do is press that button (no need to remove it from your PC).
