Hello, I've been using clutchmaster for several months for Gray Zone Warfare without any issues. Today, when I try to open it, it will pop up the auth dialog for a second, then closes itself. I've tried reinstalling it, checking for updates, disabling windows antivirus stuff, but it keeps doing it. Any ideas why it would be closing before I have a chance to type the auth key in?

Hey! Please try repairing your VCRedist via control panel. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Go to control panel

2. Program and features

3. Search for VCRedist x64

4. Repair

I tried this but still no luck. I even tried deleting and reinstalling the Visual C++ when the repair didn't work. I opened the windows event viewer and this is the error when I try to launch clutchmaster:

Faulting application name: VPP2CvcV.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x67a2b939
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.26100.3624, time stamp: 0x45295404
Exception code: 0xc0000409
Fault offset: 0x00000000000a4ace
Faulting process id: 0x5BD4
Faulting application start time: 0x1DBAFF9D87597AF
Faulting application path: H:\VPP2CvcV.exe
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\ucrtbase.dll
Report Id: e74fbfd0-eb88-4308-b0a0-03292079b69c
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

I'm no programmer or expert on .dll files...but from what I have googled about that specific urctbase.dll, they said that the program may be trying to access the dll using an incorrect path or older version or something.

Any other options I can try? Like I said, been using this since 2024 and now in 2025 and all of the sudden it stopped working. Very strange.

Hello!

Only option to fix this issue, unfortunately is reinstalling your windows.

i recommend to wipe all data and make a new installation.

How to do it (Using rufus + Windows 11 23h2)

  1. Download Windows 11 23H2 iso
  2. Download Rufus and run it
  3. Insert a usb stick with at least 8GB
  4. Click "Select" and then select the .iso you downloaded in Step 1
  5. Click "Start"
  6. After the process is complete, go to the BIOS and configure it to boot using the USB, so you will be able to reinstall Windows. Video how to boot from USB

Note1: Keep in mind that this process will format your USB. (All data will be erased)

Note2: It's recommended to select all options on "Windows User Experience"
